40’s Is The New 30’s?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

How many times have you heard that?  As excerpted from a great article by Shane Kreider, you probably have heard that expression a lot.  And guess what, “From a financial viewpoint, it means our money has to last ten years longer, but we also have ten extra years to make it. It also means we have ten extra years to apply our entrepreneurial skills to make us happy.”

According to Shane, “The expression also has a scientific explanation. It’s a different way of looking at age - it’s not how long you’ve lived, it’s how long you’ve got left. As our expected life span gets longer, ‘middle age’ happens later; some say we are therefore in the same cycle of life at 40 that our parents were in at 30. And as our life span is supposed to continue to increase, middle age is coming later and later. Expected life span is different from country to country but in Germany, for example, scientists say that by 2050, middle age (for Germans) will begin around age 52.”

And there is also a great way to look at this and that is about the attitude you have.  Many of us refuse to buy into the idea of “getting older”.  I personally feel the same way now as I did at 30.  Maybe there are some bones cracking more often, but in my mind, I am 30.  I have another 50 years at least, to learn, grow, prosper and excel in all my life areas.

So as Shane says, “If you get out of bed some mornings feeling old, remember this: scientifically speaking, you’re actually ten years younger. Then have a good day.”

Steps 5 - Be Optimistic

What is happening TO me…

Friday, June 12th, 2009

…is happening FOR me! Wait a minute now. Are you saying that my unemployment, my house underwater, my angry spouse, and all that other bad stuff happening in my life is a GOOD thing? No comprendo.

Let’s think about it for a minute. When you approach your life from the perspective that everything is FOR your GOOD, then it can shift your thinking from being a victim to being a victor. You are then more empowered to take the actions that work for you. By seeking the GOOD in everything around you, you will attract more GOOD in your life.

Remember the Law of Attraction which states “that which is like unto itself is drawn” or more simply, “likes attract like”? Keep asking for the GOOD in your life to show up and before you know it, everything that shows up will be GOOD!

Don’t let the external world affect you. Live in the possibilities. Live in your imagination. Thomas Edison once said that “imagination is more powerful than knowledge”. Seek the GOOD and watch out what happens. You will be thrilled at the results.

Step 6 – Do What Prospers You

Good Friday or Bad Friday?

Friday, April 10th, 2009

bunnyCelebrating a holiday this weekend? Easter? Passover? Neither? If it is neither, maybe you can take a minute or two and think about everything that you are grateful for in your life. For you non-religious types, you probably have a spiritual connection to something - to the Universe, to God, to yourself, to your Higher Power, etc. Whatever it is, think about something greater and bigger than you!

Think about your Spiritual Life Area, and ask yourself what you are doing, thinking, and feeling in order to become a better, stronger, and more enlightened person. What about the 95 year-old neighbor next door who has no family and could use a visit? How about your teenage kid who needs some extra hugs? How about your spouse, lover, partner who needs an apology? Let go of anger. Focus on love.

This is a very important weekend for some of the world’s greatest religions. Why not consider a little prayer of gratitude or meditation to strengthen your spiritual consciousness? Get outside of yourself. Do something for someone else. It will always do something for you!

 STEP 7 - GIVE BACK

Does Passion = SEX?

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

heartSex without passion is useless, many would say.  What would you say?  So why is work, play, family, money, etc., any different?  Why are you not operating your life from a place of passion?  With passion, everything is easy.  Everything is exciting.  Everything is fun.  Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge”.  So the beginning of developing that passion is easy, free and fun……..it’s your imagination!  Think about what would make you all excited in your life areas, would it be that car?  Relationship?  Job? Money? Travel?  What would get you so darn excited in your life that you would stop at nothing to get there?  This is the basis for Massive Abundance in your life.  Passion.  I find it interesting that a friend of mine who is a dancer told me that she has to dance or she would die.  Now that’s pretty powerful, she would die if she didn’t work her passion.  Think about that.  And think about how we can help you with your passion.  Because remember, the sex will never be the same!

Step 1, “Paint Your Passionate Picture”

Albert Wasn’t Smart for Nothin’

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

einstein-picAlbert who you ask? Why Albert Einstein of course! It was Albert Einstein who once said that Imagination is more important than knowledge”.

Now what does that mean to us? It means this - do not accept anything as fact in your outside world if it does not conform to the vision that you would like to see happen!

Setbacks, disappointments, distractions, failures - anything that appears as though your dreams are not going to come true- are only what they may be - setbacks, disappointments, etc. You can CHOOSE to refuse what you are seeing. Your senses aren’t what matter. What matters is what you are feeling and what your imagination is telling you. Stay with those feeling and your imagination because that is what comes from the DIVINE!

Listen, if Albert said it, it’s GOT to be true!
